PLAYFUL_Happy Birthday Quilt

It's a SNOW SEW DAY, so thought I would share a recent project.

First, I would like to mention that there is no lounging on the sun deck today!  It's a bit grey outside for sun bathing. :-)  Also, it's only 24 degrees, so I guess I'll hold off on polar activities for today.

Below is a Happy Birthday quilt that measures ~ 38" x 45.5", was sewn as a sample for Kelly Ann's Quilting Store, and will be on display in the store until all the kits are sold.  Once all the kits are sold I'm bringing it home to cherish.  Come by the shop and see it in person; it's really adorable, or you can purchase one online:

I am thinking this quilt may show up at family birthdays just for fun and so everyone can enjoy it. :-)

Noah & Matilda

I began piecing these 2 blocks at a recent retreat and just got a chance to sew them down.  These are the first 2 blocks assigned in the Noah & Matilda quilt study I am doing.  I need to get 2 more done and 1 started before this Wednesday!  Wish me luck!

I am still trying to figure out if I love applique or not.  I love the way it looks when SOMEONE else is doing it!  HAH, but I haven't quite mastered it yet, so the jury is out.  I did realize that you should NOT try to remove Freezer paper templates PRIOR to securing to your background - it leave a lot of fray in the fabric that is impossible to tuck under while sewing.  Oh well.

Off to get the next two done... oh...and I'm trying to organize my sewing space - I have way too many projects going on at one time.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!  May the best team win and let's pray for no DEFLATED BALLS!! LOL
